Thursday Worship: With Humility

Sep 5, 2024

What shall I bring to the Lord, the God of heaven, when I come to worship him? Shall I bring the best calves to burn as offerings to him? Will the Lord be pleased if I bring him thousands of sheep or endless streams of olive oil? Shall I offer him my first-born child to pay for my sins? No, the Lord has told us what is good; walk in humble fellowship with God and live in steadfast righteousness and love toward others. Micah 6:6-8

We are in a series on worship. About recognizing that the Church is not peripheral to the world, that the world is peripheral to the Church. Jesus at the center of it all. About what worship looks like from that Worldview. About offering the totality of our lives as an act of worship to a loving, majestic, and faithful God. An active effort to close the gap between one’s heart and the God it adores is worship at its best.

Application: With what, then, shall I come before the Lord? What do we know about God? God hates the sin of pride almost more than any other sin. The opposite of pridefulness is humility. As you live out your everyday, walking around life as worship to God, walk with humility toward God and our fellow man. See here.
