The Cross: The Collision Of God And Sin | Good News

Apr 21, 2025

He Himself bore our sins in His body on the Cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. 1 Peter 2:24 NASB 1995

The heart of salvation is the Cross of Jesus Christ. It is the place where God and sinful man met with a tremendous collision and where the way to eternal life was established once and for all.

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ was the supreme triumph, and it shook the very foundations of hell. There is nothing more absolutely certain and irrefutable than what Jesus accomplished on the Cross. He made it possible for the entire human race to be brought back into a right-standing relationship with God.

The purpose of Jesus’ incarnation was our redemption and to accomplish that He had to die on the Cross. He is “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29). Simply put, Jesus bore the punishment of our sin so that we might have eternal life. This is the Good News. That God’s wrath and judgment of sin were paid in full by Jesus’ crucifixion. And sealed by His glorious resurrection.
