O Lamb Of God, I Come

This hymn (Note 1) describes our posture of prayer before God; just as I am. The Lord invites us as we are (Note 2). Pray this hymn. Repeat.

Just as I am – without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come!

Just as I am – Thy love unknown
Has broken every barrier down;
Now to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come!

Note 1: Charlotte Elliot (1789 – 1871) felt limited by physical disabilities until a minister asked whether she had truly given her heart to Christ. After becoming convicted that she really did have something to offer God, Elliot wrote this hymn.
Note 2: Reverend Billy Graham used this hymn in a great many of his altar calls. It is reported to have been a catalyst in his own conversion to being a Christ follower.
