When you pray, do not use a lot of meaningless words, as the pagans do, who think that their gods will hear them because their prayers are long. Jesus, as recorded in the Book of Matthew 6:7 GNT
Prayer is not complicated. It is simply a conversation with God. That’s it. Scripture is clear that there’s no right way to pray. Prayers don’t have to be long and eloquent. They need only come from a sincere, repentant, and humble heart. When you talk, God listens. It’s not the words that matter to God as much as what’s in your heart.
And don’t forget conversations are two way streets. When you talk you repeat what you already know, but if you listen you often learn something new.
“A man prayed, and at first he thought that prayer was talking. But he became more and more quiet until, in the end, he realized prayer is listening.” (Soren Kierkegaard 1813-1855)
