Revival starts first with the church.
People without Christ (the unrepentant) do not need resuscitation (reviving), they need resurrection. Revival must come first to the Church, the backslidden Body of Christ. And then. And then. What is impossible with man is possible with God. The ensuing witness of the revived Church will spur the broader revival. He who has ears to hear, let him consider and comprehend.
This does not start with some euphemistic entity somewhere. Or even in our local Bodies of Christ, or with the shepherds we currently have. The turning starts with me. And you. A turning leading to a new alignment within each of our hearts and in our relationship with God. And then in our family, our community, and our church. But it starts with you. Now. Today. Herewith the inviolate order of revival:
- Conviction of our sin, arising from a holy desperation and a loss of all hope (Note 1).
- Surrender to Yeshua.
- Repentance, a turning back to God, accompanied by face-down continuous confessional prayer acknowledging our failure. and a complete redirection of our path.
- Reformation. God’s acceptance of our repentance and His restoration of our relationship with Him (Note 2).
- Finally, the renewed Body of Christ becomes a witness, igniting a turning to God of the unrepentant.
Note 1: Awakening
Note 2: Reconciliation, restoration, reformation.
