Time-Out

Oct 26, 2025

Our soul waits for the Lord, He is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in Him, because we trust in His holy name. Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in You. Psalm 33:20-22 ESV

When a team begins losing to their opponent, most coaches call for a time-out. Rather than leave their team out on the field facing discouragement and distraction, the time-out serves to remind them of their strengths and refocus them on their strategies.

During times of stress and conflict, God beckons us to take a time-out. To stop. To breathe. To pray. During chaotic seasons, draw close to God and bask in His faithfulness and affection. Our right standing and connection with Him is unaltered by any thing or any being. Jesus paid the price for us to have a steadfast relationship with God. Whether the stress of a situation remains or is removed, our souls can rest in Him.

A Bend In The Road

Sometimes we come to life’s crossroads
We view what we think is the end;
But God has a much wider vision
And He knows that it’s only a bend.

The road will go on and get smoother
And after we’ve stopped for a rest,
The path that lies hidden beyond us
Is often the path that is best.

So rest and relax and grow stronger
Let go and let God share your load,
And have faith in a brighter tomorrow
You’ve just come to a bend in the road.
