A New Creation

The Apostle Paul knew a thing or two about new creations. Even though he had been a leading persecutor of Christians, Paul was made new by an encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus. God had a different plan for Saul, made new as Paul. Here, in his second epistle to the church in Corinth, Paul exposits on the beauty of the principle:

We believe that Christ died for all. He died for everyone so that those who receive His new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them. So we no longer judge others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know Him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new creation. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to Himself through Christ.” Paul’s second letter to the church in Corinth, circa 55 AD, 2 Corinthians 5:14b-21, Adapted
