Grace is God treating a person solely according to His infinite goodness and sovereign purpose. Grace ceases to be grace if God is compelled to bestow it in the presence of human merit. Grace is also no longer grace if God is compelled to withdraw it in the presence of human failing. Grace is only grace when it is undeserved. Adapted, Sam Storms
