God regenerates us not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy saying. Titus 3:5-8a by NKJV

When we placed our faith in Christ and were born again through the Holy Spirit, He made us into a new creation with new desires and new cravings. The Holy Spirit is also God’s personal seal of our eternal redemption (Romans 8:15-17, Ephesians 1:13-14).
