The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Even though an army encamps against me, though war arise against me, yet I will be confident. Psalm 27:1-3, Adapted

King David was no stranger to attacks from foreign enemies, or from enemies within. In this Psalm, David acknowledges that the Lord is his stronghold and that he can rely on the Lord’s steadfast faithfulness. “Even though besieged by evil doers, yet I will be confident in the Lord.” David ends the Psalm with an admonishment to “Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart be courageous. Wait for the Lord” (v14).

Note: Even though is a conjunction used to introduce a contrast or unexpected situation between two clauses.
