At The Launch Of A New Year

Jan 4, 2026

Maker and Sustainer of all things, I launch my bark on the unknown waters of a new year, with You as my Harbor, Your Son at my helm, and the Holy Spirit the wind in my sails. Length of days does not profit me except that they be passed in Your presence, in Your service, and to Your glory.

My Lord, let me have Your continued grace that guides, sustains, sanctifies, and aids every hour, that I may not be one moment apart from Your benevolent presence. I rely on Your Spirit to supply every thought, speak in every word, direct every step, prosper every work, build up every aspect of faith, and give me a desire to show forth Your praise, testify Your love, and advance Your Kingdom.

Redeemer, guide me to heaven with my lamp burning, my ear open to Your calls, my heart full of love, and my soul free. Belted up in Your full armor, let fear of You be my awe and Your triumphs my joy. I lay hold of Your grace to sanctify me, Your comfort to cheer, Your wisdom to teach, Your right hand to guide, Your counsel to instruct, Your law to judge, and Your presence to stabilize.

Selah and amen.
