Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to His cross and crucified them there. And when you believe in Christ, He identifies you as His own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom He promised long ago. The Spirit is God’s guarantee that He will give us the inheritance He promised and that He has purchased us to be His own people. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. The fruit of the Spirit, the work which His presence within us accomplishes and the evidence of our salvation, is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Paul, Apostle of Jesus Christ, Ephesians 1, Galatians 5.
