Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. Ephesians 5:1 NKJV

Lust imitates love.
Pride imitates joy.
Sin imitates freedom.
Satan imitates God.
Don’t be deceived by counterfeits.

Don’t be deceived by counterfeits. The test isn’t whether a thing feels good. Feelings are exactly what the counterfeit is built to produce. The test is whether it leads you toward God or away from Him. Run everything through that filter – your desires, your habits, your entertainments – and let the ones that fail fall. What remains is the real thing, and it’s worth more than everything you let go.
