Sabbath Rest

Mar 7, 2021

Sabbath is typically thought of as a day of rest, but it should not be absent of purpose.   As we move away from temporal things, we ought to be intentionally moving toward something.

A Christian Sabbath celebrates that works don’t save us, the opinions of others don’t define us, and our trials don’t have the final say. Sabbath reorients us toward Jesus, without whom our potential means nothing at all.

Sabbath is an opportunity to refresh and fill ourselves so that in the week ahead we can pour ourselves out for the Kingdom. The operative question should be “what will help prepare my body, mind, and soul for what God is calling me to do this week?”

Shabbat Shalom.
