Coof is Scottish for fool. It is used to describe an idiot, a fool, or an inept dolt.

We have previously posted variants of this post on coofs. We are posting it again as the population of fools does not seem to be diminishing.

The Bible has much to say about fools. They despise wisdom (Proverbs 1:7, 22, 10:21, 23:9); they are right in their own eyes (Proverbs 12:15); they are deceitful (Proverbs 14:8) and scornful (Proverbs 10:23, 14:9). Proverbs also provides instruction on how to deal with fools. Instructing a fool is pointless because his speech is full of foolishness (Proverbs 15:2, 14) and he does not desire wisdom or understanding (Proverbs 18:2).

There are limited options when dealing with a fool. Turning the light on is not one of them. Fools are impervious to the light. The most rational (and Biblical) thing is to shun and ignore them. Sadly, sometimes this is not possible.

On inconsequential issues coofs should just be ignored. But in issues that matter, they must be dealt with so that credence will not be given to what they say.
