Random Acts Of Kindness

Aug 19, 2022

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

Kindness is a characteristic on display throughout the Bible. It is one of the Fruits of the Spirit, an outward sign of a deepening relationship with Christ. “If we serve Jesus, then every act and thought has meaning. Acts of kindness aren’t just niceties, they become acts of worship.”*

So, what is with the concept of random acts of kindness? Has the world become so bereft of kindness that we can only be kind some of the time? It seems that we have allowed the forces of culture to lower the bar on kindness. Sadly, we’ve come to accept random, unexpected actions as noteworthy acts of kindness. Being tender, benevolent and useful to others at all times is not easy, but it’s God’s standard.

Where did you display kindness last week? How can you up your kindness quotient this week?

Kindness matters. Drop the random!
