- A godly man is a man of prayer.
- A godly man prioritizes his relationship with God (Deuteronomy 6:5-7).
- A godly man is known by his love for others; joins, comes alongside others; ministry of presence (1 John 4:9).
- A godly man is thankful, joyful and grateful; is a Philippians 4:8 person; interactive gratitude with God in his daily prayer time (Philippians 4:8).
- A godly man models kindness, forgiveness and grace (Fruits of The Spirit); not quarrelsome Philippians 4:2 (Ephesians 4:32, Colossians 3:12).
- A godly man walks in humility (Romans 12:3).
- A godly man is diligent (1 Corinthians 15:58).
- A godly man endures hardship well (Philippians 4:13).
- A godly man is intentionally relational.
- A godly man notices and cares for the needs of others (Galatians 6).
- A godly man is honest with himself and others; truth in love when prompted by God to do so (Ephesians 4).
- A godly man walks out his faith in real ways (Colossians 2:7, Ephesians 3:17).
- A godly man exercises self-control (Proverbs 25:28).
- A godly man is modest and humble (Proverbs 31:30).
- A godly man shows hospitality in his home recognizing the potential providential appointment by God (1 Peter 4:9).
- A godly man makes his house a home (Proverbs 13:1).
- A godly man loves and honors his wife.
- A godly man encourages and loves his children.
This post is dedicated to honoring all the fathers in our lives. Yet, if you have ears to hear, it will not have escaped your attention that these are also the attributes of godly women. Both men and women can aspire to them.
