Today we celebrate the birth of Christ Jesus. The time of waiting and anticipation is over. Christ has arrived.
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14 ESV
Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus. His miraculous birth was foretold by ancient prophets. God selected Mary to be the mother of Jesus. Matthew wrote about Joseph, a small town carpenter, betrothed to Mary the teenage girl who conceived the baby by the power of the Holy Spirit. When Jesus was born in Bethlehem a heavenly host of angels proclaimed the good news to lowly shepherds who immediately went to see the baby.
“So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: ‘Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,’ which is translated, ‘God with us.’” Matthew 1:22-23, Isaiah 7:14 NKJV
Merry Christmas!
