In the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when his disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a spirit,” and cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spoke unto them, saying, “Be of good comfort, It is I: be not afraid.“ Matthew 14:25-27 1599 Geneva Bible
More than a thousand years before Jesus spoke this truth to His disciples, King David, a man after God’s own heart, knew this in the core of his being: “The LORD is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1 ESV
