Count It All Joy

Oct 19, 2026

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4 ESV

A recently published book, “The War On Reality” (Note 1) is dedicated to Charlie Kirk who was murdered on September 10, 2025. The book includes a forward by Charlie’s widow, Erika Kirk. Herewith an excerpt from the forward:

“Since September 10, 2025, I have been faced with my own “new” reality. One that I still wrestle with as I attempt to grasp its earthly permanence. Quite honestly, it’ll probably be like that for the rest of my life. Yet, what I’ve realized is that redefining my reality isn’t what gives me peace; surrendering to it does.

“There are realities in life we would never choose for ourselves. But they’re ours. It’s the cross we are called to carry. And so, we carry it. And through it all, reality remains a gift because it comes from the outstretched hand of a sovereign God.

“Although my husband is now absent from this world but present with the Lord he loved, he lived his life in such an inspiring way, knowing that his faith rested on the confidence that reality belonged to no one and nothing else but God. And I pray you can find freedom in that as well.” Erika Kirk, CEO and Board Chair for Turning Point USA
